Jennifer & Jay

Wow. Just Wow. I love this wedding. Jennifer and Jay were married at the Biltmore on November 21st. You will notice that we will not be featuring any photos of Jennifer's face because she is a food critic and it is important that her appearance remains "anonymous." Moving right along...

They say "it's all in the details." And we got 'em.

The bridal party got ready at the W Downtown which was the perfect spot for some fun photos.

I am obsessed with Jennifer's couture Rivini gown. Gorgeous.

And the guys didn't look too shabby either! Jay wore a Versace tuxedo and Prada shoes.

The Decor

Jennifer and Jay wanted a very clean and modern look, which was so interesting and refreshing in contrast the very traditional/ornate ballrooms. They enlisted the talented Steve Bales of Bold American's Design team and together they came up with this sexy look. All white, clear chivari chairs, Jeff Leatham-inspired florals, estate tables accented with manzanita branches dripping with crystals and "floating" votive globes, lounge furniture, a lit dance floor... oh my.

The Stationery

Stationery was extremely important to Jennifer. After selecting Bella Figura invitations, she found several etsy vendors to create stationery for the wedding. One to create the menu cards, bar menus, and "bride" and "groom" chair signs, another who created the chair cutouts for the "Please Take a Seat" escort cards and a third that created custom die cut table numbers that were in clear frames.

I loved the escort card presentation- chair cutouts with guests names that we mounted on a large mirror with a garland that read "Please Take a Seat." Cute!

The Party

You know the food had to be good. Bold American catered a family style dinner that included antipasti, a grilled romaine salad, porcini ravioli, and sangiovese braised beef short ribs. Jennifer and Jay flew in LA DJ The FlashDance to spin at their wedding. He brought the house down. Guests also enjoyed the ever popular SmileBooth with a custom backdrop from Dolci Odille. As a nod to her Mexican Heritage, Jennifer and her Dad did the Mexican Hat Dance for the Father-Daughter dance. It was- in a word- awesome.

The Sweets

How cool is this cake?

All of the sweet treats were from Caryn's Cakes. Jennifer and Jay decided to design their cake to look like their favorite Jonathan Adler vase. Love the Jonathan Adler cake toppers to complete the look. The couple also served cupcakes in amazing flavors like Mexican hot chocolate with marshmallow icing and a toasted marshmallow on top, Earl grey chocolate cake with chocolate fudge icing and hazelnut cake with amaretto buttercream . Guests left for the night with one last sweet treat- Mexican Wedding Cookies from Alon's.

The Ring Shot

Jennifer found these hilarious vintage books online. I don't know if I could have dreamed up a cooler ring shot.

Jennifer and Jay- thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day. I feel so fortunate to have made two new friends and look very forward to many more dinners together!

A huge thank you to David and Kendrick (aka Our Labor of Love too) for sharing these amazing images!
