Whimsical Inspiration

Two gorgeous whimsical weddings that are making me swoon right now:

The first wedding, found here on Green Wedding Shoes, took place at Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse in California. Photos from the amazing Max Wanger, design and planning by Duet Weddings, and the perfect florals are by Modern Day Design.

I love this idea- guests escort cards were attached to small arrangements so when they sat down at their seats, guests were decorating their tables as well!

I found the second wedding here and here. I just adore this vintage, Anthropologie inspired wedding- and all of those dreamy, soft pink flowers by Meg of La Partie Events (Meg also coordinated the event). This wedding took place at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA. And the beautiful photographs are by Erin Hearts Court.

Ginny & Ed: The 8mm Video

Since we are on the 1920's theme... Remember Ginny & Ed's '20's inspired wedding at Serenbe {I, II, III}? I just found this breathtaking 8 mm video produced by the couple's photographer Josh Goleman.

Emily & Devereaux

Emily and Devereaux had what we refer to as a "Wedding Weekend Extravaganza" June 12th through the 14th. On Friday, June 12th, Emily and Devereaux were married in an intimate ceremony on the front side of the Atlanta History Center's Swan House. Both Friday and Saturday night had a 1920's theme.

But let me start at the beginning with the proposal, which took place during a game of Scrabble in which Devereaux spelled out "will you marry me?" Emily gave Devereaux these fabulous initial cuff links to wear on the wedding day as an homage to the proposal.

Emily took a few portraits and had fun with her girls before the ceremony in the Boxwood Garden.

And with the guys! Love the Fedora hats that Devereaux gave each of his Groomsmen and all that seersucker!

I adored all of the custom stationery from Miss Pickles Press.

The ceremony was held on the front side of the Swan House, which was a unique choice since so many Atlanta brides choose to get married on the back lawn. It was gorgeous.

I loved Emily's bouquet which looked perfectly vintage inspired with peonies and gardenias.

How cute are these little ones!? Three of the little boys came out ringing bells as the ceremony began.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the back lawn of the Swan House for cocktails {mint juleps!}, hors d'oeuvres and a New Orleans style jazz band. On their way to the back lawn, guests were greeted by one of the boys {pictured above} standing in front of a fountain with a basket of pennies and a sign that read "Make a Wish for Emily and Devereaux."

Even the Bride and Groom took a little spin on the dance floor...

Afterwards, everyone headed to 103 West for a fabulous dinner party with lots of peacock feather inspiration.

During the day on Saturday, there was a picnic for everyone at Devereaux's alma mater, Westminster. Later that evening there was a large reception at Capital City Club Brookhaven. Guests were encouraged to wear 1920's attire and really enjoyed themselves!

I was blown away by the stunning Chrysler Building cake from Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes and Cakes. This cake was at least 4 feet tall! Emily and Devereaux chose to model their wedding cake after the Chrysler Building for several reasons including their love of the 1920's architectural details and because Emily lived in New York City throughout the couple's engagement.

Em and Dev {as I so affectionately came to know them after daily phone calls and e-mails while we planned their wedding for a quick 6 months all while they were living out-of-state} had a bell exit to an oh-so-appropriate vintage car. I don't know if you can read the super cute tags on the bells {also created by Miss Pickles Press}- they say "Ring the Bell for a Fond Farewell."

To wrap up the "Wedding Weekend Extravaganza," there was a brunch at the Ritz~Carlton Buckhead on Sunday morning. Phew!-what a weekend indeed! Thank you to Sandra, Greg and Patrick of Picture This! Photography for all of these lovely images and to florists Larry and Greg of Foxgloves and Ivy for all of your hard work pulling off such a huge event! Thank you, Emily and Devereaux, for allowing myself and the Ashley Baber Weddings team to be a part of your wedding weekend. It was an absolute pleasure {and always hilarious!} to work with you both. Best wishes as you begin your life together in Boston!
