And Hooray! for us!

We are super honored and excited to see Jenna and John's Derby-themed wedding in the Spring/Summer National Knot Magazine on newsstands now.

Hooray! for these flags

I really dig these flags {via Once Wed} from etsy seller So Inviting! What a wonderful alternative when your venue does not allow sparklers {or anything else} for your exit~ or if you are just looking to do something different.

Lori & Marshall: Part II {The Details}

Some details from Lori and Marshall's Fall wedding...

Marshall is a graphic designer, so he created all of the sweetly sophisticated and perfectly coordinated stationery- even the guest book! Instead of programs, we hung these sweet thank you notes on each chair:

To those who have been there since the beginning...
BIRTH, FIRST SMILE, WOBBLY STEPS

To those with whom we have shared memorable moments...
HIGH SCHOOL, COLLEGE AND BEYOND

To those with whom we have played...
SOCCER, TENNIS, FLAG FOOTBALL

To those with whom we have lived...
DORM ROOMS, APARTMENTS, HOMES

To those with whom we have shared a meal...
LOW COUNTRY BOIL, SUNDAY DINNER, A CHICKEN TACO

To those with whom we have traveled...
ROAD TRIPS, SKI TRIPS, EUROPE

To those who have traveled here today...
FROM BOULDER, SAVANNAH, MIAMI

To those who aren't here but have a place in our hearts...
GRANDPARENTS, COUSINS, FRIENDS

To those who have taught us life's lessons...
To those who helped us become who we are today...
To our brothers and sisters...
To our parents...

THANK YOU

Lori and Marshall were married in their backyard, which we tented to soften the space. With some DIY touches including lanterns from IKEA and moss pedestals, we created a romantic backdrop and focal point for the ceremony.

Lori's Mom owns a shop in Savannah and had given the couple these super cute glavanized steel buckets covered in different colors and patterns that were filled with hydrangeas and placed on the guest tables and throughout the couple's home.

One of Lori and Marshall's favorite resaurants is Taqueria del Sol, so their catering co. Sol Catering provided a delicious spread. Guests also enjoyed their classic margaritas and Mexican beers.

And the meal would not have been complete without cupcakes from Sweet Pockets! Key Lime, Midnight and Blonde were Lori and Marshall's favs and they looked absolutely yummy stacked high on a table covered in a clean, white linen adorned with the couple's new monogram.

Guests picked up candy favors in cute packaging before they sent the Bride and Groom off with a sparkler exit...

Best Wishes to Lori and Marshall who were wonderful to work with. Thank you again to the talented Tracy Adams for these beautiful images. We are excited to see Lori and Marshall's wedding in print in the Spring!

Lori & Marshall: Part I {The Urban Market Photoshoot}

I am absolutely in love with this wedding. Lori and Marshall were married at their home in West Midtown on October 18th. They decided to see each other before the wedding so they had plenty of time to get some great photos at the Westside Urban Market on Howell Mill. Gorgeous. Thank you Tracy Adams for these amazing images. Check back early in the week for details of Lori and Marshall's wedding day. Just imagine- an intimate outdoor ceremony, Taqueria del Sol and cupcakes...

Something Old, Something New

How fun! I am so excited to see that someone is finally putting a stylish twist on disposable cameras. I saw these in the new Weddings Unveiled Magazine {the Winter 2009 issue is dedicated to all things Black & White- stunning!} and practically jumped for joy. Modeled after the the vintage Rolleiflex twin lens camera and fully loaded with 24 exposures of black and white film, the Rollei single use camera is equipped with a high quality lens and built-in flash for quality black and white images. $8.99 at Freestyle Photo

Brieon & Kenneth

Brieon and Kenneth were married and had their reception at King Plow Art Gallery on October 18th. Brieon looked stunning in a silk satin gown with a gathered sweetheart neckline and beautiful alencon lace at the waist and hem. A champagne sash and vintage brooch completed the ensemble. Brieon and Kenneth chose amazing fall colors, flowers and details for their intimate affair. Even Brieon's peep-toe heels were orange! Asian lanterns of various sizes were hung from the gallery's lofty ceiling beams. The aisle was lined with tons of orange rose petals as the couple exchanged vows in front of an "altar" of glowing floating candles and two large arrangements of curly willows strung with orange orchid blooms and hanging votives. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed His-and-Hers cocktails- Kenneth's favorite Jack and Coke and a Brieon's preference- a seasonal pomegranate Mojito. Guests found their names and table assignments on place cards attached to miniature Caramel Apples. Tables had sweet names such as "Perseverance" and "Understanding"with correlating African symbols to honor Brieon's Father's heritage. Coca-Cola was a reccuring theme throughout the night since Kenneth works for the Atlanta based company. Guests were given glass bottles of Coke to toast the Newlyweds. Coca-Cola bottle openers were attached as another favor for guests to take home. After a fun night of great food and dancing, Brieon and Kenneth were given a grand sparkler exit on their way to a vintage Rolls Royce. Thank you to Adam Linke of The Decisive Moment for these beautiful images.

A Brunch Wedding

Happy New Year! Champagne {in our last post} always makes me think of brunch and I am in love with brunch weddings. This table and and florals from another stunning real wedding on Style Me Pretty is just picture perfect for a brunch themed wedding reception.

Our special touches would include:
~A customized crossword puzzle from Variety Games with fun facts about the couple at each place setting.

~A plethora of specialty drinks including a "Blushing Bride" and "Golden Groom," a make-your-own Bloody Mary Bar with both classic red and a unique yellow tomato puree mix, Blood Orange Mimosas and Mini Espresso Martinis {with a chocolate covered espresso bean in the bottom of each glass} as well as an assortment of fresh-squeezed juices and high quality french pressed coffees.

~Let guests play with their food with creative options like omelettes made to order with local ingredients and crepes made on the spot with a multitude of fillings.

~Send guests away with my favorite jelly {Bonne Maman} and a family recipe for biscuits or muffins attached. Another great option is Prosecco splits with adorable tags.
