Lauren & Adam
Lauren and Adam were married on June 14th at Rock Spring Presbyterian Church in Midtown. This church is one of my favorites in Atlanta- those red doors are so pretty! And it is right across the street from Fat Matt's Rib Shack, so all of the groomsmen were able to indulge in some ribs and beer after pictures before heading down the aisle. Their reception followed at Magnolia Hall at Piedmont Park. Lauren chose gorgeous jewel tones for her wedding and reception and incorporated them everywhere- from the invites to the bridemaids dresses and florals and decor. I just love her rich, tonal purple bouquet!! The reception was so much fun- the cigar bar was a hit and their 80's cover band Nationwide Coverage rocked the house. And really- what wedding reception would be complete without a guy with a garter on his head, a guy with a tie around his head and a breakdancer? What an adorable couple and great families! We are so excited to be apart of Adam's sister Amy's wedding next June as well! Thank you to 35 Atlanta for these great images!

Snapshots of a Wedding Day
There are always a few pictures from each wedding that are unexpectedly captured that make me smile. Here are a few from Keri and Duke's wedding on June 14th. David, one of the 5 little boys in the bridal party, was clearly tired after a long day of photos and various responsibilities. And it is a tradition in Duke's family to grab the groom on the way out and pour a bag of rice down his pants! The tradition continues... Thank you to Taproot Photography for these great photos!
My Bella Weddings Guide
There is a new bridal publication in Atlanta! My Bella Weddings Guide just released it's first edition here in our wonderful city and the very first wedding featured in the publication is Melissa and Matt's wedding from January! How exciting! The publishers/editors/designers are a great group of young ladies including Donald Trump's Apprentice Season 4 candidate Kristi Caudell-Smith. This compact, magazine-style publication offers a ton of great editorial content as well as lots of real weddings and a planning guide- even a place for notes! And this first issue features insight from some very well known Atlanta vendors, including tips on how to chose the right gown from Anne Barge, how to find the right Hair and Make-up professionals with Steve Moore and and how to have perfect skin with Dr. Brian Maloney, MD, FACS. Pick up a copy of My Bella Weddings Guide at your local bridal boutique or vendor's shop today! Matt and Melissa's wedding was photographed by Matt Adcock of Del Sol Photography.
Melissa & Vladi
I think this wedding is breathtaking- I just adore all of the fabulous details and images. Melissa and Vladi were married and had their reception at Callanwolde on June 7th. What a lovely couple. Melissa had a clear vision for her wedding utilizing bright green, white and black and infusing the wedding with Serbian traditions to honor Vladi's family. If you will recall, it was rather warm out that first weekend in June, so Melissa and Vladi were sure to provide their guests with fans and cool drinks during the ceremony on the lawn. The aisle was decorated with beautiful lanterns at varying heights on mossy pedestals. The ceremony began as each of the guests were pinned with a sprig of Rosemary as they arrived- a Serbian custom in which guests present money {to be given to the bride and groom} to receive the Rosemary. Melissa looked stunning in one of the most beautiful wedding gowns I have seen by Rivini with a matching veil. After the ceremony, guests moved inside the cool air for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and then were seated in the perfectly color coordinated main room prior to the buffet dinner. Melissa was sure to tie every detail together from the custom made black cake stand to the boxes that held the special Serbian favors. Speaking of cake- guests enjoyed wedding cake as well as a plethora of Serbian desserts provided by Vladi's family members. Guests danced the night away and in Serbian tradition did a circle dance called the "kolo." Melissa and Vladi made a sparkler exit- I just think this picture is so pretty- it looks like they are leaving under fireworks! And leave it to Janet, EJ and the amazing team at Blue World Studios to capture so many beautiful images throughout the day and this picture perfect kiss in their vintage exit car that was a suprise from Melissa's parents. See more of the wedding here. We wish Melissa and Vladi all of the best!
Inspiration: Green, Black + White
I met with our super cute couple Jen and Jace yesterday and they are insipired by this color palette for their November wedding. I also wanted to give you a sneak peek into this color palette as it is also what Melissa & Vladi chose for their wedding on June 7th. I will be posting some images from their gorgeous wedding next... Enjoy! Images from photographer Jennifer Skog's fabulous "vintage-mod" bridal shower posted on Hostess with the Mostess
Liz & Chris
I have been so excited to share this wedding with you! This wedding could be straight out of the pages of Marth Stewart it is so gorgeous. I just love all of the cohesive details combined with the breathtaking setting! Emily was on-site as Liz and Chris were married at the Inn at Half Mile Farm in Highlands, North Carolina on May 31st. These amazing images that were shot by the super talented Christine Gallagher really speak for themselves... Click on the photoboards above to see a larger version of the images and enjoy!
Anna & Wes
Congratulations to Anna and Wes- such a sweet couple!- who were married on May 31st at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with their reception following at the Country Club of Roswell! Thank you to Kristen Alexander for this beautiful photo board!
Must Read
I came across this book on Darcy's blog who found it on NPR. I have yet to read this gem, but can only imagine the wonderful, insightful and no doubt hilarious information it holds. I know for a fact that it has a sausage and cheese ball recipe, so it has to be a good read. It is a fact that there are substantial differences between Northern, Midwestern and Soutern wedding traditions. So, if you or your fiance's family is not from the South, but you are getting married here in Atlanta or elsewhere in the South, consider sending this on to the appropriate parties to ensure everyone is on the same page for the big day.
Laura & Trey
Laura and Trey were married at Peachtree Christian Church on May 25th. Laura had a lot going on as she had graduated from Emory Medical School just a few weeks before the big day! Laura and Trey saw each other before their ceremony to save time on photographs after the wedding and I just love that picture of her anticipating seeing her groom for the first time. Laura chose beautiful pinks, peaches and ivory tones for all of her wedding day florals which complimented the light blue details she incorporated elsewhere perfectly. After the ceremony, guests headed over to Fernbank Museum of Natural History for the wonderfully traditional reception. I always tell our clients getting married at Fernbank to "go with the dinosaur thing," as it is hard to pretend they are not an obvious part of your reception... Laura did just that by naming the guest tables dinosaur names. The escort cards and table names were complete with pictures of the various types of dinos as well. Jan, EJ and the Blue World Studios photography team did an amazing job lighting the huge space for these reception images and even coordinated their lighting to Laura and Trey's wedding colors. And I love the aged photo processing they used on some of their images- it really suits Laura and Trey's classic and timeless look. Check out that Georgia Tech Ramblin Wreck cake by Mark Lotti of Classic Cheesecakes- unbelievable! Guests danced the night away while a few of the groomsmen filled the exit limo with balloons and streamers. The majority of the guests sent the bride and groom off with a bubble exit, but those few sneaky groomsmen got Laura and Trey good with silly string. See all of the fabulous images from their wedding day here.
